As mentioned before, I was extremely impressed with the submissions of the last tournament – the creativity and ingenuity of the ambigram community is truly inspiring and I cannot wait to see more. Seeing as the last tournament went so well, this one is going to have 3 prizes – a gold, silver and bronze certificate!
Here is an image of the gold certificate, once again, hand written on parchment card – this time with a metallic ink highlighting the flourishes. The gold shimmers in the light, so this one looks even classier than the last!
The theme for this one is double acts – simply pick 2 people who are often associated with each other, whether that be Morecambe and Wise, Tom and Jerry, or Kanye and Kim. As usual, this is a very broad theme, and I will accept any couple of names which are often associated – Romeo and Juliet etc. Obviously this is a perfect opportunity for a symbiotogram – e.g. a design which reads ‘Laurel’ one way and ‘Hardy’ in the other. Although this would be nice, it is not a requisite for entry, and I will not take this into account when judging – I realise symbiotograms only work with certain word choices.
Once again, any type of ambigram is legible, and you need to email your submissions to me at firstname.lastname@example.org before the 29th February in order to be eligible. Please make it clear in the email that you are entering the tournament so I don’t miss it.
As a source of inspiration and to get the ball rolling, I have completed my very own entry – the adventurous duo Rick and Morty from the TV show Rick and Morty, stylised to look like the show’s logo:
Of course, my entry cannot win, however much I would want it to. I look forward to judging your entries!
